Frito Lay Commercial

Love all of these commercials for Frito Lay called "Made For Each Other! The creative director, Alexandra Tyler has done an amazing job directing and working with amazing animators. Click on her name to learn more about her and see some more fun commercials

This one is my favorite. I absolutely love the originality of it all and the music. I would love to know who animated each commercial.

baby doll stroller

My daughter, Char, has just started getting into babies and strollers and bottles. So, I had to get her a baby doll stroller. I wanted something cheap, so we went garage saleing. I found this stroller for 25 cents! It was in bad shape. So, I just cut off the old fabric and traced the panels to make my very own. I used fabric I had laying around, and this is the end product. Isn't it cute!

You can see the excitement on Char's face!

new home postcard

8.26.2009

I had to design a postcard to send to friends and family to let them know our new address. I'm considering making this card available in my etsy shop . I would make it all ready to print and you could either print it at your home printer or take it to a print shop, like Kinkos. That way, it would keep cost down and your friends and family would know that you had moved. What a great idea!

Now, if I could just get myself to the post office to mail them.. hee hee hee.

I'm back!

8.24.2009

Sorry I have been gone for so long. We have been busy moving and updating our outdated bathroom.

We are officially in our very first home! It is incredible to be out of a dark basement and into a house with light and a backyard for Char to run around in.

Let me tell you a little bit about it. It is 925 square feet (small I know) and built in 1959. Every home on this street has some kind of addition, except ours. So it's an original. It has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. One of those bedrooms being my office/craft room! You don't even know how excited Christopher is about that one. We can finally eat on our kitchen table! We usually end up eating on the couch at our coffee table because it seems I'm always working on some craft.

Here are a few pictures of the updated bathroom. The bathroom definitely needed some work. The tub was a jetted tub from like the 1970's. In fact, it is still sitting in our side yard. We had better take that to the dump before we look like white trash....hee hee hee.

It took 2 weeks to update the bathroom. If any of you are thinking of updating your bathroom, just let me tell you, it's not easy. It took 2 days to lay tile and grout (which Chris had never done before-but did an excellent job, let me add), several days to finish the drywall around the tub (Kudos to Dave-Chris's dad-for helping us with that! As well as all of the baseboards! Thanks Dave. And thanks Uncle Chris for your help too!), and 2 days to paint. I don't know why it took so long, but it did. The color I originally got was too blue, so I had to repaint with a more charcoal grey color. Let me just also add, that NEVER, I repeat, NEVER use Wal-Mart paint!!! Paint is just one of those things you can't skimp on. I used Behr paint from Home Depot and it worked amazing!

I really didn't like the beige cabinets. In fact, I almost had Chris take them out, but as soon as I painted them white, I really liked them!

Luckily the vanity and toilet were fairly new, so we didn't have to replace those. But we did replace the light fixture and accessories to brushed nickel, instead of the oil rubbed bronze. I think it gives it a more update, modern look. If you couldn't tell, we really, really like modern. Although, I do like a touch of antique mixed in...

Cute rug I found at Biglots for only $7! All of the ones at Target were at least $20, and I couldn't bring myself to pay that much!

Cute green towels that were on sale at Target for only $3. What a deal! The shower curtain is also from Target and was designed by Dwell Studio. Love their stuff!

Love the original hardwood floors.

Cute curtains we got at IKEA. I didn't realize how well they matched the other decor we already had. The best part about buying a small house, is that we didn't have to buy any more furniture to fill it. In fact, we only bought a credenza, which I will post later, once I refinish it.

Sneak peek of the kitchen! Isn't this a Muffin Green? I love it! Thanks Chris for letting me paint it green! I'll post more pictures of the kitchen once I get the finishing touches up.

fabric flower books

Making these books was so much fun. I sewed fabric flowers to the book cloth before gluing the cloth to the book board. Aren't they cute?
